The importance of the indoor atmosphere in animal husbandry

The indoor atmosphere is an important and also highly complex factor in animal husbandry that has a huge influence on the health of the animals and the profitability of the business. The correct temperature, appropriate ambient humidity, low levels of air movement, harmful gases and dust, adequate lighting and hygienic conditions all contribute to a good atmosphere inside farm buildings.

As these factors have a constant impact on the animals, they also form the basis for the animals’ well-being and health. If the conditions are not correctly adapted to the animals’ requirements, there will be an increase in health problems and a reduction in performance. The use of Fermented Herb Extract (FHE) in the animals’ feed and as a spray inside the building also has a positive effect on the indoor atmosphere, as it reduces odours and emissions of harmful gases, lowers the number of flies and populates surfaces and bedding with probiotic microorganisms.
