Strengthening the natural defences of trees and bushes with EM

Pests and diseases can cause significant damage to fruit trees. Effective Microorganisms strengthen the natural defences of trees and bushes. For example, they create an environment on the surface of the leaves that pathogens will avoid.

The benefits at a glance

Roots
0.1 l bottle From €3.30

Sapling treatment for better rooting

You can give saplings the best possible start by immersing the root ball in a solution of Effective Microorganisms before you plant them. This promotes and accelerates root growth.

Immerse the saplings briefly in the solution before planting them.

Dosage for one tree:

  • 100 ml of Roots
  • 10 litres of water

TIP: Afterwards, sprinkle the roots with a mixture of 40 g of ZeoBas (rock dust) and 10 g of EM ceramic powder.

Plants
0.5 l bottle From €15.60

Strengthening the tree’s defences before, during and after flowering

To strengthen the tree’s natural defences, spray it with microorganism preparations before, during and after flowering. Do this three times at five-day intervals. Do not spray the tree when it is in full sun. Instead, apply the spray in the morning or the evening. If the tree is at serious risk of disease, for example because of excessive moisture, we recommend an additional application with 40 ml of Plants per litre of water.

Dosage for 1 litre of water:

  • 20 ml of Plants
  • 1 litre of water

Mix Plants with water in a spray bottle and spray your plants with the mixture until it drips off the leaves.

Mulch treatment to improve the soil

Mulching not only keeps the soil and the roots damp during longer periods of hot weather, it also suppresses weeds and helps to prevent soil erosion caused by heavy rain.

Dosage for 100 m²:

  • 100 ml of Roots
  • 10 litres of water

Mix Roots with water and spray the solution on after mulching. Mulch in the early morning or the evening, but not when the tree is in full sun.

TIP: The Aquamix dispenser allows you to water the trees and apply Multikraft products in one step.

Adding Bokashi to improve the soil

Work Bokashi into the soil in the spring and autumn to encourage the conversion of organic material into valuable humus.

Painting trees: Bark care and winter protection

We recommend painting trees with a paste to treat wounds and protect against external influences. The paste blocks any cracks in the bark where pests could overwinter. It also seals wounds and entry points for fungi and bacteria and inhibits the growth of spores. Furthermore, it increases the resistance of trees to external influences, particularly over the winter.

Dosage for one application as required

  • 1 part Effective Microorganisms active (EMa)
  • 1 part tree paint with EM ceramic powder

Mix the products in a 1:1 ratio to form a creamy paste.

Apply to the trunk in the autumn or until mid-March for winter protection. The paste is also ideal for sealing wounds after pruning.
