Tip 1: Temperature management in the greenhouse

Maintaining the right temperature is crucial for your plants' well-being:

  • Winter: In winter, you should maintain a temperature of +2 degrees Celsius in your greenhouse. This temperature is optimal for protecting sensitive plants from frost without consuming unnecessary energy.
  • Summer: In the summer months, greenhouses can quickly overheat. Use shading nets, curtains or natural shade providers such as trees to keep the inside of your greenhouse cool. We also recommend the use of fans or automatic window openers to ensure effective ventilation and to avoid heat build-up.

Tip 2: Moving air for healthy plants

Good air circulation is essential to minimise the risk of fungal diseases:

  • Ventilation: Avoid stagnant air. Small, solar-powered fans distribute the air evenly. This helps to reduce humidity and prevent condensation on the plants.
  • Regular ventilation: Keep opening and closing windows and doors to let in fresh air. Automatic ventilation systems keep the air circulating constantly, especially when you are not at home during the day.

Tip 3: Effective Microorganisms for preventing diseases

Effective Microorganisms play an important role in keeping your plants healthy:

  • Preventive spraying: Spray your plants regularly with our fermented extracts, such as horsetail extract, to prevent fungal diseases such as mildew or grey mould. The Effective Microorganisms they contain promote plant health and create a hostile environment for harmful fungi.
  • Soil clean-up: Use Effective Microorganisms in the soil too. You can revitalise soil life and encourage useful microbes with Multikraft Roots, Plants or Flowers. This improves the nutrient absorption of plants and also strengthens their resistance to diseases and pests.

Tip 4: Optimise irrigation techniques

Efficient irrigation is also crucial for the growth of your greenhouse plants:

  • Drip irrigation: Drip irrigation ensures an even water supply directly to the roots, without water getting on the leaves. This reduces the risk of fungal infections and saves water.
  • Olla clay pots: These unglazed clay pots are buried in the ground and filled with water. They release the water slowly into the surrounding plants. This ensures constant moisture and prevents overwatering.

Tip 5: Plant diversity and crop rotation

A well-thought-out plant mixture and crop rotation are important for soil health and plant yields:

  • Plant diversity: Avoid monocultures and plant a variety of species. Combine different plants that have a positive influence on each other (e.g. tomatoes and basil).
  • Crop rotation: Change the location of the plants within the greenhouse every year to make balanced use of the nutrients in the soil and minimise the accumulation of pests and diseases.
